Why ventilation matters

Airtight is warm. It can also be damp.

The better a home holds heat, the less naturally it breathes. Day-to-day living adds litres of moisture to the air through cooking, showers, drying washing and simply breathing, and with nowhere to go it settles on cold glass as condensation and feeds mould in wall cavities.

Mechanical ventilation fixes this at the source. By continuously replacing damp, stale air with dry, filtered fresh air, it holds indoor humidity below the point where condensation forms, so your home stays healthier, drier and easier to heat.

Ducted Heat Pumps

Fresh, filtered air is drawn from the roof cavity or outside and gently forced down into living spaces. The slight positive pressure pushes damp, stale air out through everyday gaps around doors and windows. Simple, proven and ideal for existing homes.

Balanced pressure + heat recovery
Swap stale for fresh, keep the warmths

Two fans work together, extracting stale air from kitchens and bathrooms while supplying fresh air to living zones. A heat exchanger captures warmth from the outgoing air and transfers it to the incoming air, so you ventilate without throwing your heating away.

How it works

Yes. Interior condensation forms when water vapour settles on cold surfaces like glass. Mechanical ventilation continually cycles out the moisture created by cooking, showering and breathing, replacing it with dry, filtered air. That drops indoor humidity below the dew point, which permanently prevents weeping windows and damp wall cavities.

No. Although the system runs continuously, modern units use highly efficient brushless DC fans that draw very little power, often about the same as a single low-wattage LED bulb. Because systems like the Daikin VAM and Lossnay recover 80%+ of the heat that would otherwise be lost, they actually reduce your total heating costs by removing cold draughts.
